Le robinet est situé dans un renfoncement d'un mur en pierre (sorte de niche) à droite du bâtiment de l'ancien hôtel des voyageurs (présence sur le mur d'une petite plaque d'informations touristiques, au n° 278 route de Saint-Anthème), côté gauche sur la D14 en direction de Saint-Bonnet-le-Château, environ 60 mètres avant l'intersection à gauche avec la D44 direction Saint-Jean-Soleymieux et avant l'église implantée à droite.
