Le robinet se trouve dans un renfoncement du mur au bord de la D101 juste en face de l'arrivée de la D20 en provenance du col de la Pelletière (mur sur la gauche de la D101 en direction de Sauvain). Le robinet est fixé sur le côté droit dans cette espèce de niche dans le mur.
