La fontaine se trouve au centre du lieu-dit La Trappe, au bord de la D43 face au carrefour avec la D43A qui monte au village de Saint-Victor-Montvianex (commune à laquelle est rattaché le lieu-dit). Sur la D43 en direction de Lachaux, le carrefour avec la D43A sera côté gauche et la fontaine à droite, entre une croix sur un socle et l'obélisque du Monument aux Morts. La fontaine s'écoule dans un grand bassin carré en pierre composé de deux parties. AVERTISSEMENT : Elle est accompagnée d'un écriteau ''eau non surveillée''.
